Squier Telecaster

This is a project of mine. I bought an 80's Fender Made In Japan SquierTelecaster on eBay a couple years ago. It was a great guitar, except it had a really thick plastic butterscotch paintjob that I did not like. I stripped the body and neck. I successfully re-finished the neck, but the body came out bad. So I bought this beautiful Ash body, and shot it a nice amber. Both the neck and body are finished with nitrocellulose lacquer. The second body came out bitchen, as you can see. I added this brass bit of swag, just to give it a more old-time vintage look. It was an antique paper clip, made of brass. I filed the bottom part off and attached it to the guitar with brass nails.

The grain shows through on this guitar really nicely, and it's just waiting to get some miles on her before the nitro finish will start to wear really nice. Kevin Heffernan at KLH Relics helped me with a couple finishing touches on this guitar- he thought I did a pretty good job on the amber finish. Thanks, Kevin!

I replaced the original bridge plate, switch plate and knobs with brass components, which were relic'ed to a nice vintage patina. The tuning keys are original, as are all electronics and pickups. This guitar sounds really great! Its' got the vintage tele quack/sting down pat, and it plays great! Low, silky action!
