This is a Squier by Fender Affinity Telecaster signed by OAR. It has an MSRP of $279. I have used it a few times and hate to have to let go of it. I have not played it in a long time because of a broken high E string, it will need a new set of strings before it can be played.

1980s Japanese Squier Telecaster that has been played and shows signs of it.  The pickguard I had on this guitar has been removed because I was considering going to a tortoise shell or black for that retro look.  Buyer will need to get a pickguard on their own. 

MODS:

EMG-T active pickups.  Very popular pickup system that broadens the sound capabilities of this guitar without taking the option to really "tele" it up when you want.

Electrosocket jack professionally installed.

The GOODS:

Recently professionally set up including action, intonation, fret polishing, neck cleaning, electronics cleaned, and a thorough check to make sure it has full functionality.  Passed with flying colors. 

After the set up this guitar plays very smoothly with no fret buzz, great sustain, and no suprises.

The neck is smooth and has that authentic yellowing that the older japanese fenders achieve when no one messes with the finish.

A solid body with little to no damage that goes beyond the black finish.

Solid Maple neck...No veneer.

The BAD:

The finish is chipped and dented in a few places so she isn't as pretty as the ones going for a few hundred more.  This is a great candidate for a refinish if that is important to you.

You will need to get a pickguard and a few replacement screws to make the look a little more complete.

The tuners, although Fender Japan, have been mixed with a black Fender set to give it a different look.

There is some fret-wear on the lower frets (G-B strings fret 2) but this is visual and doesn't change the playability including no "ba-ding" sound if you bend over the spots.

There is also a small wear spot on the finish of the neck between the G-E strings that is the size of a tic-tac.  Once again, the playability hasn't changed one bit.

The VERDICT:

For those that know and love the MIJ guitars and especially the ones that stand out due to the rarity of its features, this is a good find.  Having recently been to the guitar doctor and given a clean bill of health, this guitar doesn't have to be a project because it can be played on day 1.

 One of the outstanding sunburst, double-bound Classic Vibe Custom Teles,
in excellent, like-new condition, with these major upgrades:

A
USA Bigsby vibrato, installed with one of the great Vibramate devices -
so, no holes have been drilled into the Tele, and it can be returned to
stock condition in minutes.  The Bigsby works perfectly, and provides
excellent shimmers and vibrato dips.   You could remove the Bigsby and
Vibramate and sell them if you'd like.

A Rio Grande bridge
pickup, for big, deep bridge tone (not a thin, piercing sound).  The
bridge pickup is wired so that the middle position gives a more nasal
honk, but you can switch the leads to get a regular middle position Tele
tone.   Stock alnico neck pickup.

Will ship in an older hard black case, with soft red interior.  Shipping is just a flat $25 to anywhere in the continental USA

I have for sale a FENDER SQUIRE HOLLOWBODY TELECASTER. The guitar is natural woodgrain then stained color..very unique with a high gloss. It is a hollowbody tele with a cut out it corner. The pickguard is a mother of pearl color. The neck is smooth as glass. The guitar sounds awsome it has a that true tele honky tonk sound with a little bit of a twist being a hollowbody if you play this guitar you will fall in love with it. Has no dings or scrathes anywhere its been hanging on my wall since i bought it. Id keep it but i have too many telecasters and need to sell. There is no case with this auction. Relisted due to bidder failing to follow through.  This is a Squier Pro Tone Telecaster, a.k.a. "The Bordello" model. It's a thinline Telecaster with binding on the front of the body. Sounds and looks good, and plays well. Neck is straight, action is good. Some tarnishing of the gold hardware, no major nicks, dings, or other nonsense. Satin finish on the neck, only minor fretwear. Made in Korea, and a pretty nice ax. These were only produced for a couple of years in the late nineties.  The Pro Tone series included two models of Telecasters, and this thinline is well-regarded by most, and rightly so.  This series of Squier guitars is sort of the precursor to the Classic Vibe stuff that's produced today.  That is, of higher quality than the level of Squiers such as Affinity.
