Crimson/gold Fender Squier Protone Thinline Telecaster

Before I begin, I'd just like to state the fact that if you're thinking this is just another shit Squier guitar geared towards beginners or people with non-working ears like some of the newer junk that they are cranking out, you couldn't be more sadly mistaken.
The Squier Protone Series was Made in Korea for an extremely short timeframe which was the two years between 1996 and 1998. The Pro Tone series was meant as a top-of-the-line Squier that wound up far exceeding expectations, and was eventually discontinued due to the fact that the guitars in the Pro Tone Series started cutting into Fender's guitar sales.
This is the Telecaster Thinline model (The particular, also known as 'The Bordellocaster' for reasons unknown to myself) is composed of an ash body with transparent crimson red finish, cream coloered binding all around the top (which isnt totally common on moderately inexpensive guitars, especially Squiers), string-thru body for superior tone, gold plated hardware which has aged over the years, and the infamous original Pro Tone pickups. Truly a full-blooded Telecaster Thinline that will kick the ass of just about any 'Made In Mexico' Fender, and gave all but the top 'Made In America' Thinlines a real run for their money.
Not only is this guitar long out of production, very highly held and sought after, and becoming increasingly collectable, but its also a real players guitar. Though it may look like a gorgeous piece of wall art (which it very well could be) this guitar actually plays better than half of the Thinlines out there today, probably more. I own about 5 guitars currently, and have owned several others in the past and this is one of the two that I am almost always reaching for (and hey, the other one also happens to be a Squier Protone) This thing plays like a wet dream and provides the sweetest, richest tones in all positions.
This one in particular has been played, lots, and there are minor signs of it but nothing serious - after all, it is a nearly 15 year old guitar. There is a typical light loss of plating on the hardware which has happened to just about all of the Pro Tone Series guitars and gives it a really sweet vintage look, frets are vintage style and they still have plenty of miles left to go.
*There is some blackish discoloration on the sides of the fretboard/neck from being played for countless hours over the years. Also gives it a nice worn in look but if its an issue I'm sure it wouldnt take muck to clean it up. The body itself is in pretty pristine condition, minus a tiny chip in the cutaway thts too small for my camera to capture. There is no cracking in the lacquer at the neck pockets which often happens with age, very minor buckle-rash on the back which has to be tilted in the light to be seen, and no other cosmetic scratches, dents, or dings on the top.
*** IF IT MAKES ANY DIFFERENCE, the headstock was refinished some odd years ago and outfitted with FENDER decals. It IS however the original neck which this series is famous for. Its seriously one of the smoothest necks I have ever played in my life. Not sure if it makes much of a difference, many people said in review that this guitars ONLY downfall was that it wore a Squier logo on the headstock so if youre going for a classic Fender look (or rather a guitar that looks unlike anything most of your friends have ever played/seen let alone owned) this could be the guitar for you.
This guitar is seriously one of my favorites, hell, it probably IS my favorite - hands down. So, youre probably wondering why I am selling it... In all honesty, I REALLY don't want to. The only reason I'm selling it is because I bought me best friend a $650 camera and I need to replenish those funds.
There isnt currently one of these Thinline models on eBay right now, but the last one of these I saw on there was in mint condition and sold for $726 - So, I know what the guitar is worth. I will accept offers, but no lowballers. I know a lot about these Pro Tones and their value.
